The best lesson of the week. I always thought working for Inpac was a privilege because of the good atmosphere and the friendly way we treat each other – I never expected an English lesson to top that. But with each lesson, not only has our knowledge of English grammar and vocabulary grown, but also the relationship between us colleagues. We discussed, marveled, laughed – and the latter sometimes for minutes – when we talked in class about what we would do as President of Germany, explained the advantages of an onion roast or we all outed what the eye-opener of our lives was. Carolyn motivated us in her unique way to communicate with each other in a foreign language, so that after a few weeks we no longer noticed whether we spoke English or German. She incorporated grammar, homework and vocabulary so naturally that the minutes just melted away. It was – and will remain in our memories – the best hour of the week. If I had to take time off for that – I would have come – if it had been deducted from my salary – I would have been there. If all language teachers in German schools had even a hint of „Carolyn“ I wouldn’t worry about a top place in the English Proficiency Index. And – by the way – if all Canadians are like Carolyn, I guess we’ve all become Canada fans.
